Join us May Bank Holiday for the British Cheese Weekender and help save British cheese!
The future of Bath Soft Cheese Co. and hundreds of other small, artisan cheesemakers in Britain suffered seriously after the Coronavirus crisis forced restaurants and cafes to close overnight, many artisan cheesemakers like us lost over 50% of their business in one hit. Artisan cheeses tend not to be sold in the supermarkets and so it’s up to the #GreatBritishPublic to save these cheeses by ordering them online. Thankfully that has been happening and this event supports that change.
The British Cheese Weekender (8th – 10th May) is a new online cheese festival featuring live-streamed talks, tastings, farm tours, quizzes and cookery demos by some of the country’s leading cheese experts. Our founder, Graham Padfield, will be taking part on Sunday at 4 pm. He will be talking about farming and cheese making over the last 100 years (he’s not quite that old but his grandparents were farming and cheese making back then). He’ll also be reading some of the poems from his new poetry book “of Coast and Country” inspired by his life of farming and love of sailing.
Most importantly the event is completely FREE to join, but do you want to know the best part? We can deliver your favourite cheeses in time for you to eat along while you watch! The new British Cheese Weekender Selection includes Graham’s book of poetry and a selection of cheese, biscuits and chutney to cover you right through the weekend.
This project is lining up to be all the best parts of a cheese festival but without having to put your trousers on and frankly, we can’t wait.
