Bath Soft Cheese wins Producer of the Year

Last night Bath Soft Cheese won the award for Producer of the Year at the Somerset Life Food and Drinks Awards, held in Taunton.

Bath Soft Cheese was nominated by the public and in September the judges visited Bath Soft Cheese Dairy and Cafe on the family-run farm. The judges had a tour of our cheese making facilities and enjoyed a cheesy lunch in the Cafe and Cheese shop.

“We are very grateful to the public who nominated us, and to the judges for choosing us as their winners. We were up against some great producers: Brown Cow, Thatchers and Moonbeams Farm and so it is particularly special to have come top of the class.”

“It’s been a good year for awards and this one is the icing on the cake. Our new cheese, the wash-rind Merry Wyfe, has done particularly well. It won gold awards at the Artisan Cheese Awards and the Global Cheese Awards, and just two weeks ago it won second place overall at the London ‘We Love Cheese’ awards. Back in 2014 our Bath Blue won best cheese in the World but this year has been almost as good”
